CRP ELISA Kit

C-reactive protein (CRP) is an annular (ring-shaped) pentameric protein in blood plasma, its circulating concentrations increase in response to inflammation. CRP is an acute-phase protein of hepatic origin, its content increases following the interleukin-6 secretion by macrophages and T cells. CRP is the marker of systemic inflammation, it has affection in atherosclerosis, stroke and myocardial infarction.

CRP is generated by the liver, it is responsible to released factors from macrophages and fat cells. It is not related to C-peptide (insulin) or protein C (blood coagulation).

C-reactive protein is the first identified pattern recognition receptor (PRR). The C-reactive protein test will measure the level of CRP in different samples. Normally, c-reactive protein is in low level. High levels will occur once in serious condition and inflammation. The CRP test can determine the inflammation in host body.
